Job Duties: Preparation of media (agars etc.) to be used in microbiological analysis Sample preparation in line with company protocols Microbiological analysis of water samples in line with company protocols Training and operation of relevant equipment General housekeeping of laboratory and prevention of cross contamination Accurate Data entry into laboratory database Accurate record-keeping associated with UKAS quality system Effective communication with all employees Report any anomalous results or situations to Laboratory Supervisor Health and Safety procedures are adhered to within the laboratory Any other duties as required by the post

Qualifications / Experience: Essential Requirements:GCSE English and Mathematics and Science or equivalentComputer literate with experience of MS Office applications (in particular Excel)Comfortable working in a busy environment Ability to work quickly and accuratelyDesirable: Full driving licenceA level, BTEC or Leaving Certificate Qualification in a science related subjectLaboratory experienceExperience of culture of microorganismsKnowledge of laboratory accreditation systems (ideally ISO 17025)
