Job Duties: The Department of the Economy (DfE) was established in May 2016. Its responsibilities include: wider economic policy, including specific areas like Energy, Tourism and Telecoms. Staff Officers (SOs) support the Deputy Principal lead on informing, developing and delivering key areas of energy. They may work closely with a Deputy Principal to support them in the management of a significant area of energy work. The work of SOs will depend on where they are posted within Energy Group. While the precise duties and responsivities of individual posts will vary, posts may involve varying degrees of the following activities: Energy Insight.Operational Delivery.Research and Analysis.Contacts and Communications.Project & Programme Management.Governance.

Qualifications / Experience: Please refer to Candidate Information Booklet for more Information.Applicants must, by the closing date of applications, have: At least a second- class degree (2:2) in an engineering, energy, environmental sciences, numerate or economics discipline, or in a subject where research, statistics or analysis was a major component. Or At least 1 year's demonstrable experience of working in an area relevant for energy policy or delivery.Shortlisting Criteria Demonstrable experience in the last 5 years of carrying out research and analysis to draft reports or papers on complex issues for your organisation.
