Job Duties: To teach courses including IT Levels 1, 2 and 3 (NVQs and Diplomas) and Essential Skills IT at both Levels 1 and 2 to learners of all ages throughout various locations in Northern Ireland. This includes classroom based teaching where an interactive and enthusiastic approach is required.Teaching will be both face to face in classroom environments as well as online. Travel throughout Northern Ireland is essential. A pool car will be provided.To participate actively in the enrolment, monitoring and assessment of learners, completing documentation to reflect progress.Provide individual learning plans and provide support for learners in line with requirements of the course.Act as academic and pastoral tutor to learners.
Qualifications / Experience: Essential Criteria:A degree in IT or equivalent (of which ICT forms 50% of the subject studied).GCSE (or any qualification which is deemed to be equivalent) in English (Grade A*-C) and Maths.Please note for existing Essential Skills tutors the criteria is as follows;Full-time and part-time Essential Skills lecturers/tutors, currently in employment and recognised as qualified by the Department prior to 1st August 2012, will retain this recognition. Excellent communication and organisational skills.Full clean driving licence.Ability to communicate effectively with learners with a range of abilities and motivation.Ability to utilise ICT both within learning and administrative processes.Desirable CriteriaAchievement of A1 Assessors Award or willing to work towards one once in employment. Achievement of Certificate in Teaching / PGCE or equivalent, or willing to work towards one once in employment.Experience of successful teaching/training would be advantageous.
