Job Duties: Establish a good positive rapport with the child / young person/parents/carers and the family.Identify the specific challenges and barriers experienced by each child / young person from their own perspective. Implement strategies to support each child / young person to raise their self-esteem, confidence, resilience and learning motivation through one-to-one sessions and themed small group work.Support the child and young person to improve social skills, build relationships and promote social connections thereby increasing their social inclusion.Support with key transition stages i.e. from nursery to primary, primary to post primary, post primary to further education or work through activity based one-to-one, themed group work.Act as a role model and mentor to parents/carers assisting in the development of the home life conditions necessary to give a child /young person the best possible chance.
Qualifications / Experience: One of the following:Minimum of QCF Level 3, or willingness to enrol on the Level 3 course by 31st March 2022,Or one of the following:Diploma in Health & Social Care Level 3 Children & Young People;NVQ Level 3 Childrens Care, Learning & Development;CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Child Care & Education (VRQ);CACHE Level 3 Extended Diploma in Child Care & Education (Wales and NI);BTEC Higher National Diploma in Childcare Studies;BTEC National Diploma in Childcare Studies;Degree in Social Work.Please see employer website for full details.
