Job Duties: Children's House is home to a small number of children who have experienced multiple care placement moves. Through providing trauma informed and trauma responsive care, Children's House seeks to disrupt this cycle and successfully support children to transition into a stable long-term placement.As Senior Practitioner the role is to provide leadership and direction to the large team of residential social workers and support staff through modelling practice and monitoring processes within the home, and to support the Children's Service Manager to leading the development of therapeutic practice within the house. This is a Permanent Full-Time/37 hours per week post. Hours are worked on a rota basis, working from base in Belfast. It is an expectation that Senior Practitioners will also provide on call support on a rota basis.
Qualifications / Experience: If you have a desire to work therapeutically with children, within a family home environment - to assess the strengths and struggles of the children in our care, and to be involved in working as part of an integrated service with Barnardos Fostering NI to both match and support transition to long term placement, and you are a qualified social worker (Not AYE) then we would like to hear from you.We are looking for suitably experienced staff who have:Experience of working with children with significant trauma.Experience of therapeutic work in a residential or other care setting.Experience of safeguarding.Experience of assessment & care planning.Experience of supporting staff to reflect on their practice and the impact of the work on them personally.Experience of responding appropriately in a crisis or a highly emotional situation.Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and sleep-in duties.
