Job Duties: The post holder will work as part of the Anaesthetics team, contributing towards the provision of comprehensive Anaesthetic Services on the Altnagelvin site. There are options for sessions on other sites in the Trust depending on the interests of successful candidates and service needs. Successful candidates will have a particular focus on anaesthesia for trauma and orthopaedics, cancer surgery (ENT, Maxillofacial, Gynaecology, Colorectal surgery). In time we will work flexibly with successful colleagues to develop subspecialty interests as needed.The Critical Care rota frequency is 1:8. The trust will work flexibly with the successful candidate(s) to agree an on call rota pattern.

Qualifications / Experience: Full registration with the General Medical Council plus a Licence to Practise (must have both at time of appointment)Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in the UK or hold other appropriate equivalent qualificationsEntry on the GMC Specialist Register for Anaesthesia via:CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview date);CESR orEuropean Community Rights.Must have completed intermediate or Step 1 training in ICM or equivalent. Extensive experience in critical care relevant to the post.Must have access to a means of transport to facilitate movement between sites.
