Job Duties: To provide high quality inpatient and outpatient services to the elderly population attending Causeway Hospital and other NHSCT sites as required according to the job plan. The appointee will be expected to lead and motivate a highly efficient Multidisciplinary team in providing Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment services linked with effective interventions and timely discharge planning to the patients under his/her care.New collaborative relationships with primary and community care are required to meet anticipated future challenges for the ageing population and the appointee will be expected to engage fully in this processThe appointee will have responsibility for leading the hospital response to acute stroke presentations including appropriate stroke lysis protocols and liaison with tertiary services when required. The post holder will oversee the multidisciplinary stroke rehabilitation team on the site.

Qualifications / Experience: Membership of Royal College of Physicians United Kingdom/Ireland or equivalent Qualification or training. Full registration or eligibility for registration (must be registered at time of appointment) with the General Medical Council (GMC), London and a License to PracticeEntry on the GMC Specialist Register for General (internal) Medicine via:-CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview date)CESR or European Community Rights
