Job Duties: To offer direct counselling to individuals who have developed a substance misuse problem, their families and concerned persons. To carry out direct assessment of a person's counselling needs.To provide counselling within the Northland's Non-residential and/or Residential Treatment Programmes.To facilitate Treatment and Aftercare groups.

Qualifications / Experience: A recognised counselling qualification.Evidence of a minimum of one year's post-qualifying experience of working in a supervised counselling setting.A capacity to work effectively as part of a counselling team.An ability to work effectively with people from a variety of disciplines and organisations.A balanced approach to the personal use of alcohol and other mood- altering substances. A person in recovery from any form of alcohol or drug-related problem or similar dependency will have a minimum of 3 year's freedom from use.Experience of counselling and advice work in the addictions field would be an advantage
