Job Duties: The Employer is: COMPASS ADVOCACY NETWORK LTD.To provide ongoing support & guidance to service users in the planning of their daily activities.Ensure service users receive appropriate assessment, training & encouragement to develop both their skills & attitudes.Assist service users to participate & integrate fully into local communities.Develop productive working relationships.Ensure confidentiality is kept at all times.Maintain the hygiene standards within the project.Daily supervision of adults with learning difficulties.Preparation & design of training materials, guidelines & other materials relevant to the project & the delivery of the same to service users.General office duties.Record keeping.Attend staff meetings, promotional events, press interviews, seminars & training days as appropriate.Maintain project attendance & financial records.You will be entitled to annual leave during this job opportunity.
Qualifications / Experience: Educated to GCSE level.NVQ in relevant subject would be desirable.Awareness of the legislative frame works relating to children & venerable adults.Experience of the barriers faced by people with learning disabilities in accessing social & leisure activities.Working knowledge of relevant statutory/ voluntary organisations & their roles in providing support & leisure opportunities to those living in the community.Good time management, organisational skills & the ability to prioritise workload in crisis.Ability to work own their own or as part of a team in the delivery of a holistic service to project participants.Non-judgemental manner & respect the rights, responsibilities & opinions of others.Due to the nature to the work which involves contact with vulnerable adults the candidate will be vetted.Flexible & responsive to the needs of the project including willingness & ability to travel to work, unsocial hours, weekend & evening work with occasional overnight stays.
