Job Duties: The employer is: CONWAY EDUCATION CENTRE.Duties will include:Supporting the Homework staff team in communication with refugee families and students.Answering telephone calls in a pleasant, helpful and efficient manner.Assisting in design and translation of information leaflets.Presenting information in an accessible manner to different audiences. To assist in promoting the work of the Homework Club through the use of social media platforms.Assisting in preparing and photocopy lesson materials.To help setup classrooms/equipment for classes.Keeping records of meetings and follow up on action points.To assist in maintaining Homework Club records on database and spreadsheets.To assist in gathering feedback from families and students on Homework Club services.You will be entitled too annual leave during this job opportunity.
Qualifications / Experience: Essential:English language at B2 or higher (intermediate) level.Fluent in Arabic language, reading, writing and speaking.Computer literate, good understanding of Microsoft Office programmes such as Word, Access and Excel.A commitment to equality and respect for diversity.Integrity and willingness to work with people from different countries and different groups.An understanding of the issues faced by refugee families and those seeking safety.An ability to deal with confidential information.A friendly approachable manner.Able to work on own initiative.Able to work as part of a team.Desired:Knowledge of other languages.Experience in working with refugee families and/or primary and post primary pupilsThis experience could be in paid employment or in a voluntary capacity.An understanding of the education system and curriculum in Northern Ireland.Awareness of Child Protection systems and legislation in Northern Ireland.
