Job Duties: The employer is: CARRICKFERGUS YMCA.Assist the PAKT staff team to plan, prepare, organise and deliver a variety of activities for children aged 5-11.Supervise activities and ensure a safe, sociable environment for children and families.Support social/emotional development of programme participants through interaction and engagement.Assist in the development of relationships with the wider community and external agencies.Challenge oppressive behaviour in young people.Provide support to parents/carers and encourage active participation in family and parent activities.Assist with administrative duties.Implement YMCA's Child Protection policy and work with children and parents/carers to safeguard their welfare and the welfare of others.Maintain high standards in relation to Health and Safety/hygiene.Undertake compulsory induction training.Participate in appropriate training to develop new skills.You will be entitled to annual leave during this job opportunity.
Qualifications / Experience: Good interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain appropriate relationships with young people.Planning and organisational skills.Computer literate.Ability to work as part of a team.Resilience and ability to deal with the pressures of working with young people.
