Job Duties: The Employer is: FURNITURE RESCUE LTD Set up/Operate various woodworking machines.Cut/Shape/Attach parts according to drawings and photos using hand tools.Match materials for colour grain and texture.Striping old finish from furnishings using solvents and abrasives.Filing cracks, depressions and other blemishes using a variety of repair materials.Treating warped, stained surfaces to restore original contour and colour of furniture.Smoothing surfaces using power sander or abrasive materials.Washing or bleaching furniture surfaces to prepare surface for application of finish.Selecting coatings according to type of wood and brushes or sprays material onto surface and produce desired appearance.Polishing, spraying, or waxing finished pieces.Removal of damage or deteriorated coverings from upholstered furniture.Any other duties that might arise.You will be entitled to annual leave during this Job opportunity.

Qualifications / Experience: Desirable;Previous job related experience.Artistic interest.Good oral and written communication skills.Patience and methodical approach to work.Self-motivated.Ability to work to deadlines.Ability to work on a number of projects concurrently.Creative problem solving skills.Flexible and adaptable approach to work.Perseverance, commitment, and a genuine enthusiasm for the work.Administration, organisation and general IT skills.GCSE qualifications in technology, history or art.Good core strength.
