Job Duties: Process overview and information gathering for mass balance approachProcess development for in-house or off-site fixture repairProcess development for fixture & fitting recoveryProcess development for fixture and component redistribution and recyclingIdeation and Design for SustainabilityNew product development ideation and prototypingEvaluation, marketing, and dissemination of the Somerville Process.

Qualifications / Experience: Hold, or be about to obtain in July 2022, at least a 2.1 (or equivalent) Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design and Development, Sustainable Engineering or a closely related subject area. Please clearly state your grade or anticipated grade on your CV.6 months' relevant work experience (which can include a student placement) in an engineering or manufacturing environmentExcellent demonstrable 3D CAD skills.Demonstrable knowledge of sustainability design and engineering principlesDemonstrable knowledge of the product design and development process An understanding of the application of design thinking approachesAn understanding of Life Cycle Assessment methodologyKnowledge of the application of industrial digital technologies (IDT) which may be demonstrated through completion of a module, student project or placement.
