Job Duties: Main Purpose of Post/Job Summary:Responsible for the planned and reactive Mechanical & Electrical maintenance of Council owned/leased properties and constructed assets, (Electrical equipment maintenance, testing and compliance, mechanical equipment maintenance, testing and compliance and metal fabrication maintenance repair, design and manufacture) within the constraints of the department throughout the District. Responsible for the efficient and effective management of a wide range of resources to provide high quality services across the Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance section.Responsible for playing a key role in a range of compliance issues to include water quality management, asbestos management, entertainment licences, Fire Risk Assessments and erection of Christmas Illuminations.Responsible for delivery of contract and minor works M&E projects through in-house service or contracted services.

Qualifications / Experience: HNC level qualification or equivalent in Mechanical and/or Electrical area, for example M&E Engineering or M&E Services or M&E design and 2 years management experience in an M&E related areaOrIn Lieu of the above qualification applicants must have 3 years management experience in an M&E related area.One year's experience in the management of sub-contractors.Experience of the full tendering processCompetent in the use of e-mail and Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.Knowledge of minor M&E design works.Excellent communication skills.Demonstrable organisational skills.Hold a full, valid driving licence and access to transport, or access to transport to meet the requirements of the post.Ability to work outside normal working hours, including evenings, weekends and public/bank holidays.
