Job Duties: On behalf of our Client C-Tric based in the Altnagelvin Hospital Campus, MPA recruitment welcome suitable applications for the role of a Scientific Lead.C-TRIC is a state-of-the-art clinical research facility, as impressive as it is unique. C-TRIC is a not-for-profit personalised medicine institute based on the Altnagelvin Hospital site and connects patients directly to research opportunities in the Northwest area and beyond. Job Purpose: The purpose of the post is to manage and be accountable for the key scientific activities related to the studies and trials managed by C-TRIC. The post-holder will be based at C-TRIC and work as part of a multidisciplinary team to include the Commercial Manager, the Facilities Manager, and the CEO of C-TRIC.
Qualifications / Experience: First-class or 2:1 honours degree or higher or equivalent in a subject related to Medicine, Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, Biology, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, (or related disciplines)A PhD (completed or nearing completion) in an area as described above.A full current driving licence and access to a car (consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence).Experience of compiling and managing clinical/biological data and undertaking data analyses.Previous experience of molecular or biochemical analyses used for clinical research or human health.Previous experience working in a multi-disciplinary team.Experience of working to timescales.Experience or knowledge of 16S Library Preparation for MiSeq analysis, RNA isolation, PCR based Library Quantification, MiSeq analysis.
