Job Duties: Maintain registration as BMS and practice to the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Standards of Proficiency and Codes of Conduct, Standards and Ethics. Ensure that the team within the section also conduct themselves in accordance with these standards and codes. Participate in conditioned hours 24/7 rotas upon satisfactory attainment in key competencies. This period will be between 3 months and 2 years, depending on previous / recent experience and familiarity with equipment and protocols. The post holder will be expected to cooperate and participate in the provision of the extended day, weekend cover and emergency out-of-hours service, if required.Continue to develop own expertise and knowledge in Microbiology to promote staff motivation, this may include attendances at conferences, discussion groups, CPD etc.Please visit www.jobs.hscni.net to see Job Description and Personnel Specification.
Qualifications / Experience: State Registered Biomedical Scientist with HCPCA minimum of 5 years post registration experience as a Specialist BMS (Band 6 or Band 7) in MicrobiologyInstitute of Biomedical Science Fellowship (FIBMS) OR MSc in Biomedical Science Microbiology Specialty (IBMS Accredited) OR Higher Specialist Diploma (IBMS) in MicrobiologyPlease visit www.jobs.hscni.net to see Job Description and Personnel Specification.
