Job Duties: To undertake primary screening and rapid review of cervical cytology primary cases for reporting with appropriate training to undertake check screening of cervical cytology cases.To understand and where appropriate to work in all sections within the Cellular & Molecular Pathology Department.Prepare and microscopically examines biological material in order to identify cancer and pre cancer cells.Please visit www.jobs.hscni.net to see Job Description and Personnel Specification.
Qualifications / Experience: A minimum of 3 years' post registration experience as a Specialist BMS (Band 6 or Band 7) in Cytology, under Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration as a Biomedical Scientist and has experience screening and reporting Liquid based cytology cases.IBMS acceptable Biomedical Science Degree. AndCurrent Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registered Biomedical Scientist.AndMaster of Science in appropriate scientist subject and/or Fellowship of the IBMSAndNHS Certificate in Cervical Cytology for Liquid Based cytology - ThinPrep or City's and Guilds Qualification for ThinPrep or NHS Certificate in Cervical Cytology with a conversion certificate to ThinPrep Liquid Based cytology.Please visit www.jobs.hscni.net to see Job Description and Personnel Specification.
