Job Duties: To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties to include:Dealing with patients courteously, both in person and on the telephone.Processing telephone requests for appointments, home visits and telephone consultations.Processing requests for prescriptions.Effective use of the practice appointment/computer system.Filing and scanning patient documents.Contacting patients with test results.Dealing with email requests and forwarding to appropriate GP/staff member.Processing and distributing incoming/outgoing mail.Flexibility to cover staff leave (holidays and sickness).
Qualifications / Experience: Essential Criteria:5 GCSEs including Maths and English or equivalent.Experience in working in an office setting.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work as part of a team and under pressure. Desirable Criteria:Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.Previous experience within a healthcare setting.Healthcare assistant experience desirable but not essential.Interest in career development within General Practice.
