Job Duties: Liaise with all project sponsors (clients) and strategically manage the delivery oversight of all capital projects from client briefings through to the completion of the project, ensuring all capital projects are completed within the budget, timeframe set and specification. Ensure that the department complies with all statutory and legislative requirements by adhering to these requirements and working in accordance with good governance and health and safety requirements.Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all areas relating to the work of the Council.Plan, manage and forecast delivery resource in alignment to the capital programme.Management of Capital Project Officers.
Qualifications / Experience: A degree level qualification.Full Corporate Membership of a professional body relevant to the building profession.A least two years (four years if you do not have the academic requirement in Criteria 1 & 2) relevant experience in a business management role in the building industry/construction field. This must include: Project Management - Utilising multi-disciplinary teams inclusive of construction, mechanical, electrical, civil and marine engineering.Procurement of services and contracts relating to capital projects and works delivery over £1M inclusive of:Production of tendering documentation;Essential contractual obligations;Production of tender documents to secure competitive engagement of the professional services and disciplines.Management of design process and project programmes.Management of project teams.Proficient use of AutoCad in the preparation of working drawings.Experience in the use of Microsoft Office.
