Job Duties: The employer is: SPACE NATIONAL LTD.Six to nine-month for a trainee cartographer working on a motorsports project.The young person will be trained on all aspects of map-making, including studying, designing, producing and distributing interactive digital maps. The occupational skills that the young person will develop include:Sourcing and gathering data from ground surveys, aerial photographs, reports and satellite imagery.Support the collection of supporting content taking photographs or short video clips and downloading additional imagery from the internet.Adding and editing layering to maps e.g. Borders, legend, keys, scale, directions, location of areas and symbols.Import features into maps from mapping tools such as OpenStreet View, Google Maps and ArcGIS.Final map editing that combines layout composition, colour, symbology and text to design a map that clearly communicates our intended message.You will be entitled to annual leave during this job opportunity.

Qualifications / Experience: Basic knowledge on the use of computers and have basic computer related skills. Can include basic Microsoft Office skills, gaming, internet search and social media usage.Willingness and ability to learn and adapt to new technology - training will be given on mapping software.The ideal candidate will be a team player with good communication and interpersonal skills, be open to new ideas and learning and be self-motivated.
