Job Duties: Main Purpose of Post/Job SummaryAs part of the Regeneration and Business Development team, the Skills and Employability Officer will primarily support the development and implementation of a range of Skills and Employability programmes aligned to Council and industry requirements that progress the District as an attractive place to work and grow a business. The focus of the Skills and Employability programme is to support career progression for those in employment, and support access to employment for those unemployed, inactive or at risk of redundancy.
Qualifications / Experience: A Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline e.g. Economics, Business, Education, Community DevelopmentANDAt least 1 year relevant work experience in all of the below 4 following areas: Assisting in the development and implementation of economic development initiatives in response to localised labour market and / or industry needs and requirementsAssisting in the preparation of funding bids, including development of business cases, costing, and establishing an evidence base via appropriate research and consultation, Successful project management, including administration of projects, budget management, monitoring and evaluation of targets and objectives within the specified timeframes, to the satisfaction of the funders and project partnersMaintaining effective public and private sector partnerships, OR If no qualification then at least 3 years relevant work experience in all of the above 4 areas.
