Job Duties: We are looking for a dedicated communications professional to join our busy media and communications team to make sure the voices of our children, young people and families are heard. We're looking for a highly motivated individual who is creative, strategic and results driven. You'll have great news sense and will be as comfortable working with social media as you are developing compelling stories for hard-hitting newspaper articles and broadcast channels. You will work collaboratively within the media and communications team across Barnardo's to promote our work in Northern Ireland and across the English regions. You will also be a key player linking our policy campaigns, children's services, fundraising, retail and corporate activity alongside external stakeholders.

Qualifications / Experience: Experience of working in a high profile, fast-paced press office or public relations function is essential, as well as the ability to use social media channels to contribute to social content across a variety of platforms. Knowledge, experience and understanding of issues affecting Northern Ireland is essential, relationships with local journalists and press outlets highly desirable. The successful candidate will be required to handle sensitive, confidential issues and work out-of-hours on a duty rota.
