Job Duties: To teach courses leading to achievement of recognised qualifications to young learners from Level 1 to Level 3, imparting your knowledge and skills and helping them achieve their Animal Care and Welfare qualifications.Currently teaching is through a blended method and a basic knowledge of IT is necessary however all training will be provided. Classes will be a mix of theory and practical sessions.To participate actively in the monitoring and assessment of learners. You will be expected to assess learners skills and knowledge, as well as providing one to one feedback to improve performance. To complete required paperwork including assessment plans and monitoring reviews to a high standard. You will be required to teach learners in the classroom, face to face and online, take practical sessions and assess learners in the workplace.

Qualifications / Experience: Essential:Minimum of level 3 qualification in Animal Care or a related occupation.Minimum of a level 2 / GCSE English and Maths qualification or equivalent.Occupational knowledge of working in the animal care industry.Excellent communication and organisational skills.Ability to communicate effectively with learners with a range of abilities and motivation.Ability to support learners with additional barriers and needs, provide pastoral care and help them achieve.Ability to work with external customers and stakeholders.Ability to work flexibly and effectively as a member of a team.Desirable: Achievement of A1 Assessors Award and Level 4 Certificate in Teaching or equivalent or willing to work towards one once in employment.Experience of successful assessing/ teaching/ training would be advantageous.

Other Information: Days flexible to suit your schedule. Classes based between Strabane and Londonderry and involves some travel so a licence is essential, transport will be provided.
