Job Duties: To curate, present and disseminate the key messages from the YMCA movement in Ireland to the relevant audiences. Develop an annual plan for the delivery of the communication strategy.Review and understand the Communications strategy priorities.Develop annual plans for the delivery of the Communications Strategy.Create and maintain appropriate channels for internal and external communications.Writing press releases.Cultivate P.R. networks, press contacts, and other media networks.Understand and adapt to emerging trends, platforms and opportunities.Push all public material to the widest external audience possible.Use communications to access CSR partners and other sector networks.To travel to venues as and when required.To represent the YMCA movement across Ireland.To manage and monitor a budget, highlighting problem areas as they arise.To be able to work flexible working hours including evenings and weekends when required.
Qualifications / Experience: 3rd Level qualification in a relevant discipline.The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong interest and a minimum of 2 years' experience in Communications & PR.An understanding of the 3rd sector/community & voluntary sector.Working knowledge showing competency and effectiveness in the use of Information Technology.Knowledge of communications, PR & marketing.Knowledge of charity work & effective communications strategies for PR.Effective oral and written communication skills.The ability to work as part of a team.Strategic thinker with the ability to set and action work plans.Self motivated, demonstrates initiative.Contribute to and be able to engage in a manner consistent with the vision, mission & values of the YMCA.
