Job Duties: The post holder will be responsible for:Working as a member of the Children's Diabetes multi-disciplinary Team; providing a holistic approach to the management of diabetes from infancy to adolescence within the Southern Trust area.Providing specialist nursing advice and support to patients, their families and other healthcare professionals following diagnosis of diabetes and throughout treatment in both acute and community settingsProviding specialist clinical expertise and act as a resource regarding children's diabetes within the trust giving / promoting specialist professional advice and guidance as appropriate.The post holder will be expected to work flexibly across the trust as and when required to meet service needs.

Qualifications / Experience: Registered Nurse (Children's) on the live NMC Register.2 years post registration nursing experience at Band 5 excluding coursesDegree in Nursing or other health related subject or willing to undertake same on appointmentA minimum of 2 years' post registration experience in the provision of diabetes assessment / treatment in children & young people.Be willing to undertake Specialist Practice Qualification in DiabetesHave or be willing to undertake non-medical Nurse Prescribing program within 5 years.
