Job Duties: The Paediatric respiratory/allergy nurse specialist will support the ongoing development of services for children suffering from mild to complex respiratory/allergy conditions in secondary/tertiary care. The post holder will provide specialist nursing skills, knowledge and expertise in the care and management of children and young people with respirator/allergy disease. The post holder will assist with implementation and review of National and Regional Guidelines for practice and contributing to the development of quality initiatives. They will provide advice, support and education to health professionals and education providers including peer education in primary and post primary schools. The post holder will work across acute and community services trust wide, facilitating outpatient clinics, skin prick testing and oral food challenges in both Daisy Hill Hospital and Craigavon Area Hospital.Please visit www.jobs.hscni.net to see a Job Description and Personnel Specification.
Qualifications / Experience: Registered Nurse (Child) on the live NMC Register.5 years post registration experience 2 of which in the specific area where respiratory medicine/respiratory and allergy care in children was practiced/ managed.Degree in Nursing or other health related subject or willing to undertake same on appointment.Relevant post-basic qualification in Respiratory nurse specialist care.Recognised post-basic qualification in Allergy testing and care.Have or be willing to undertake non-medical Nurse Prescribing program within 5 years.Please visit www.jobs.hscni.net to see a Job Description and Personnel Specification.
