Job Duties: To provide a high standard of inpatient and outpatient clinic and Internal Medicine/Diabetes and Endocrinology service according to the job plan. Coordinating with the specialty doctor and advanced nurse practitioners in post in the safe and timely provision of outpatient services.Participation in the medical post take model accepting acute endocrine presentations from the medical take on a daily basis. Participation in a Consultant on-call rota, plus provide cover for consultant colleagues during leave. The current rota is Consultant of the Day acute medical take-in system on a 1:6 weekdays and 1:8 weekend basis. Emergency procedures are performed as required.

Qualifications / Experience: Membership of Royal College of Physicians United Kingdom/Ireland or equivalent Qualification or training. PlusMust have CCST/CCT in General Internal Medicine/ Diabetes/Endocrinology or within6 months of same at date of interview or be accredited to ensure inclusion on Specialist Register for General Medicine at time of appointment PlusMust hold or be eligible to hold full Registration with the (GMC), London.For full list of criteria please see job specification.
