Job Duties: Undertake abdominal ultrasound scanning to a high standard as part of both the regional AAA screening and surveillance programmes, in accordance with national standard operating procedures.Ensure that service users / patients attending clinics are informed and aware of the implications of AAA screening and surveillance in accordance with local protocols.

Qualifications / Experience: Have a good overall standard of general education (5 GCSE at grades A-C or equivalent qualification including Science)Evidence of ongoing commitment to selfdevelopment, training or education the postholder will be required to undertake and successfully complete the nationally approved and accredited competency based training course (currently provided by the University of Salford). This takes between three and six months. Screening Technicians will be required to undertake two-yearly re-assessment of skills and reaccreditation.Your continued employment will be dependent on successful completion of the training programme.
