Job Duties: Estates Directorate at Queen's University, Belfast is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Grounds Person.This is an opportunity to join the Grounds Maintenance team at Malone Playing Fields. The post holder will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the University's outdoor sports facilities to include 11 natural grass playing surfaces and 4 synthetic playing surfaces (2 x 3G multi-use, 1 x Sand dressed hockey & 1 x water-based hockey). Hard and soft landscaping is also required. The post holder will be required to work on other areas within the University Estate when required. The post holder will work 37 hours over 5 days per week, which can include Saturday working, on a rota.

Qualifications / Experience: Minimum of two years recent relevant experience working in professional sports turf maintenance.Minimum of one year recent relevant experience operating tractor mounted multi boom sprayer (in line with PA2 Qualification).Experience in the operation of tractors to include safe use, basic maintenance and routine safety checks including, but not limited to start-up checks and tractor hitch safety guidelines.Experience in the operation of heavy plant equipment including, but not limited to tractor mounted implements such as aerators, top-dressers, seeders and sprayers.Experience in the operation of ride on cylinder mowers.Secondary School Education.Certificate of Competence in Pesticide handling and Application (PA1, PA6a & PA2).Please note the above are not an exhaustive list.
