Job Duties: General maintenance including servicing of equipment such as wheelchairs, hoists etc.Keeping gutters and drains clearReplacement light bulbs, fuses, rewire plugs as necessaryEnsure waste area containing bins is kept tidy, and bins are ready for emptying on collection day and to work with the Care Team and other staff to ensure the correct procedures are followed at all timesPlumbing repairs such as minor leaks / dripsFollow decorating program as directed by Nurse Manager(s) in Clonlee and Masserene Manor, to include gloss work, emulsion, wood staining and preparatory work as necessaryRepair of wall cracks and removal of picture nails etc. from walls to include the making good of wall surfaces where necessaryAttend fire drill and any other appropriate training. Ensure you are familiar with fire procedures and fire evacuationThis job description is not meant to be definitive nor restrictive and will be modified to meet changing needs.

Qualifications / Experience: Essential CriteriaProven experience working in a hands-on role.Experience in being able to solve a problem in any area of home maintenance.Has the ability to multi-task and deal with changing priorities within a business.Can see a task through to completion with excellent attention to detail and high standards of workmanship.Can take instructions easily and work within a team environment for the sake of the residents and staff within the Nursing Home.Has a full clean driving licence or can demonstrate the ability to meet the logistical needs of this post.Desirable CriteriaHas held a previous maintenance-related role.Has a recognised trade.
