Job Duties: Assistant Scientific Officers will assist in the delivery of a range of freshwater fisheries and environmental monitoring programmes throughout the Foyle & Carlingford Areas. They will be responsible for providing project support for laboratory work, fieldwork, data collection and report writing. They will report to their designated Higher Scientific Officer and/ or Head of Science to fulfil business needs.Full list downloadable from organisation website.

Qualifications / Experience: 5 GCSEs (Grade A-C) or equivalent including Mathematics, English Language and one Science subject.A total of 12 months demonstrable work experience which includes experience in at least two of these areas (Work experience can include time spent on student placements or post graduate projects):Fisheries science;Laboratory work / water quality samplingFieldwork in the freshwater environment;Fieldwork in the marine environmentElectrofishing survey.Candidates must hold a full current driving licence (with not more than 6 penalty points) held for a minimum of two years.Full list downloadable from organisation website
