Job Duties: The main duties of FO2 post include:Enforcement of UK fisheries legislation by inspection of fish landings at the ports and fishing vessels at sea to deter and detect offences. Collection, validation and processing of sea fishing activity data for quota management and policy purposes.Liaison with the fishing industry and advice to other Government Departments, Agencies and the private sector whose functions could impact on fisheries or the marine habitat.General office duties and tasks in support of the Fisheries Inspectorate.The work will involve driving official vehiclesAttendance at training courses and meetings.

Qualifications / Experience: At least a grade C in 'O' Level/GCSE examinations, in 5 subjects or equivalent; must include Maths and English and at least 1 science related subject;AndAt least 6 month's relevant practical experience of commercial sea or freshwater fisheries, the aquaculture industry, fisheries management or working in an aquatic environment;AndA full, current driving licence enabling the licence holder to drive in Northern Ireland.Shortlisting CriteriaIn addition applicants should be aware that after an eligibility sift, should it be necessary to shortlist candidates to go forward to interview, the following shortlisting criteria will be used:A minimum of 1 years' experience of enforcement, commercial sea/inland fisheries sector, experience of fisheries legislation or supervisory experience within the aquaculture industry*Experience must have been gained within a working environment
