Job Duties: The purpose of the Material Handler Operative is to carry out all activities necessary to ensure the safe loading, sorting and unloading of scrap metal. Key accountabilities of the material handler Operative include:Ensure vehicles are loaded and unloaded in a safe and proper mannerAssist with the loading and unloading of shipsSafely stockpile various grades of scrap metalEnsure daily checks are completed on your equipmentAttend training courses Co-ordinate with other operatives to ensure the correct processing of all loadsProcess material to conform with grade specifications Assist in traffic managementLiaise with customers, drivers and contractors who visit the siteEnsure the working area is kept in a clean and tidy state at all timesAble to work flexible working hours to include occasional nights and weekends.Perform such other duties as the Company may from time to time reasonably require

Qualifications / Experience: Desired Experience includes ;Previous experience in the operation of material handler is preferredprevious experience in the operation of an excavator will be considered as an alternative and training will be providedprevious experience working with heavy plant is requiredPlease list all plant licences held on CV
