Job Duties: Main Purpose of Post/Job Summary As part of the Regeneration and Business Development team, the Skills and Employability Manager will lead and manage the development and implementation of a range of Skills and Employability programmes aligned to Council and industry requirements that progress the District as an attractive place to work and grow a business. The focus of the Skills and Employability programme is to support career progression for those in employment, and support access to employment for those unemployed, inactive or at risk of redundancy.
Qualifications / Experience: A Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline e.g. Economics, Business, Education, Community Development and at least 2 years' relevant work experience in all of the below 5 following areas: Successfully developing and managing the implementation of economic development initiatives in response to localised labour market and / or industry needs and requirements.Conducting engagement and research to inform delivery of economic development initiatives & report on performance of same.Preparing and managing funding bids including submission of funding applications, management of the grant, monitoring and evaluation of targets and objectives.Maintaining effective public and private sector partnerships Effectively managing, analysing and reporting on budgets and performance data for projects.Or:If no qualification then at least 3 years' relevant work experience in all of the above 5 areas.
