Job Duties: Management and development of the Council's museum service including human, physical (including collections and venues) and financial resources. The post will have responsibility for developing, leading, and managing the museum service element of the cultural strategy and associated programmes, services, and museum facilities.Ensure that the department complies with all statutory and legislative requirements by adhering to these requirements and working in accordance with good governance and health and safety requirements.Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all areas relating to the work of the Council.

Qualifications / Experience: A degree, or equivalent qualification, in a relevant discipline e.g.museum studies, history, heritage or cultural studies.Three years' (four years if you do not have the academic qualification at Criteria 1) experience of managing and developing heritage programmes/services to include:Strategy development and implementation;Development and management of community engagement programmes;Developing and managing projects of at least £30,000;Managing annual service budgets;Managing and developing staff;Completing funding applications.Full current driving licence (Category B, valid in the UK).Flexible working, for example outside normal office hours.
