Job Duties: In the context of the Council's Corporate Plans the post holder:Will assist in the strategic direction, development and delivery of the Council's tourism, Action Plan as set out in the Corporate Plan and annual business plan, in accordance with Council policy.Has a statutory duty to ensure that projects, programmes and activities delivered through the service comply with all legislative requirements in force at any given time.Identifies and analyses trends and opportunities relating to the postholder's responsibilities that contribute to successful change and continuous improvement.Contributes to corporate organisational development.To lead the implementation of Community Planning at an identified District Electoral Area (DEA) in the Borough. This will involve managing, implementation and review of DEA plans supporting the delivery of the Council's Corporate and Community Plans.

Qualifications / Experience: Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline e.g. Tourism, Hospitality, Marketing or Business Consideration may be given to those candidates who do not hold the above academic qualification but who can demonstrate at least 5 year's relevant experienceA minimum of 3 year's relevant experience in a tourism or similar role to include the following:Managing a significant budgetManaging staff within the context of a performance management framework.Developing and implementing policy in a team-working context.Leading project teams (internal and external) through to successful implementationPartnership working.
