Job Duties: The Programme Officer's main responsibility is the identification, management and monitoring of ICRC's community-based humanitarian projects, which focuses on mitigating the effects of armed violence in Northern Ireland. These projects currently support a number of local community organizations whose interventions, in part, are designed to address humanitarian needs generated by violence. ICRC Projects: Specific Activities Analyses the current context in Northern Ireland to identify and support the implementation of humanitarian projects that address both the consequences of continuing armed violence, as well as the mediation thereof, by relevant community-based organisations. Establishes and manages the relationship with key organisations and ensures that the relationships are based on mutual respect, added value and coherence. Liaises with and provides support to ICRC's partners to ensure that current projects are consistent with ICRC fundamental principles.

Qualifications / Experience: Motivation and commitment to the humanitarian work. University degree in political/social sciences or other relevant field.Significant experience (indicative is 5 years' experience) in humanitarian, human rights, social or development sector. Knowledge of Northern Ireland context is essential. Previous experience working in an international organisation is an asset. Good communication, presentation, organisational and analytical skills.A proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.High level of professionalism, including the ability to work in sensitive environments.Strong sense of confidentiality and empathy.Good interpersonal and networking skills. Flexibility and willingness to travel.

Other Information: This is a resident position, full time 100% FTE (35hours per week), offered on a fixed term basis commencing in February 2022 until the end of December 2022, based in the ICRC Belfast office.
