Job Duties: The Deputy Leader will support the Playgroup Leader in the daily running of the playgroup to ensure safe, stimulating play in a safe, caring and welcoming environment for children and their families.To work closely alongside the Leader to ensure planning and preparation is carried out to a high standard and children are experiencing learning in all areas of the NI Pre-school curriculum.Observations and assessments are carried out regularly.Accurately record and disseminate key information.Provide leadership and support to staff.Adhere to all policies and procedures.Be able to step into Leader role when necessary. Liaising with parents and Management Committee.Attending training and meetings outside of business hours.
Qualifications / Experience: Essential:NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Childcare Learning and Development or equivalent qualification.Two years' paid experience of working in an early years setting.Experience of planning, observations and record keeping.Strong leadership qualities.Excellent ICT skills. Desirable:Paediatric First Aid.Food hygiene.Designated officer training.Knowledge of Covid-19 safety guidelines.
