Job Duties: To work as part of a team maintaining a suitable stimulating environment and activities for children and babies Carry out regular observations and make an assessment of each child's needs within the group and plan daily to meet these needsTo be aware of children's needsSupport the Manager in implementing all policies and proceduresMaintain the safety of the children and the childcare facility at all times, ensuring risk assessments are carried outSet out and clear the play activities adhering to monthly programmes of activities and eventsAttend to childrens personal hygiene needsEstablish and maintain a working relationship with the parents of the children using the childcare facilityEnsure Child protection policy is adhered tooBe responsible for the care and maintenance of equipment ensuring it is safe and within the guidelines of the DHSSPSMaintain high standard of hygiene within the overall childcare buildingTo assist in maintaining daily records

Qualifications / Experience: Essential:Must have Maths and English GCSEs to grade C or equivalent or willing to complete Essential Skills qualificationsDemonstrate knowledge and experience of working within a childcare settingDemonstrable knowledge of statutory legislation in regards to childrenAbility to work as part of a teamExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalBe prepared to undertake a Level 2/3 in Childcare and develop existing knowledge and skillsDesirable:1 to 2 years experience of working in a structured childcare facility-Holds a valid food hygiene certificate
