Job Duties: Prepare and fully set up the room before the children arrive and tidy up after they leave.Ensure a safe and healthy environment for the children.Assist other staff in preparation of weekly planning.Help provide and take part in all activities, including special events and trips.Listen to, encourage, enable, stimulate and ensure the safe keeping of the children.Attend relevant training as directed by the Management Committee.Advise the Leader of any matter requiring attention, such as concerns about a child, or equipment needing repaired or replaced.Keep completely confidential, any information regarding the children, their families or other staff, which is learned as part of the job.Ensure a sound knowledge and implementation of all Naiscoil an Traonaigh policies and procedures.Make every effort to improve the level of Irish in the setting.

Qualifications / Experience: Essential :A basic education and a willingness to learn.An interest in childrens welfare and development and a desire to acquire a childcare qualification.An interest in the Irish language and a willingness to learn/improve your level of Irish.Ability to relate well with children, their parents and other staff members.Ability to work as part of a team.An understanding of child development and the importance of parental involvement.Friendly, caring and helpful.Desirable:A childcare qualification.A basic level of spoken Irish.Previous work experience with young children, paid or voluntary.
