Job Duties: Main Purpose of the Role:The deputy leader will work together with and alongside the leader to support the day to day running ofPlaygroup/Preschool. Work as part of a playgroup/pre-school team to ensure a safe and stimulating play and learning environment while meeting the needs of every child. . To contribute:To and implement playgroup/pre-school policies and to ensure the childrens safety at all times, whilst ensuring the legal and statutory requirements are met.The successful candidate will be passionate about child centred learning and committed to teaching through play based activities and experiences. This leadership role involves planning and delivering the Early Years curriculum to children between the ages of 2 & 5 years.

Qualifications / Experience: Essential Criteria:QCF Level 5 in Childcare Learning and Development or Equivalent. Minimum of 2 Years (in the last 5 years) previous paid experience working in an early years setting.Experience of observations and short, medium and long term planning.Good knowledge and understanding of NI Preschool curriculum guidelines.Good knowledge of TTI and reflective practice.Knowledge of child development and age appropriate areas of learning.Demonstrate an understanding of developing policies and procedures. Good understanding of child protection and minimum standards. IT Skills.Desirable Criteria:BA in Early years Childhood Studies or Equivalent.2 Years previous experience leading and supervising members of staff in an early years setting with children 2-5 years. Experience of ETI inspectionsHigh level of interpersonal skills
