We encourage continuous development through our training and support of external training opportunities.We have a fantastic opportunity for a Cook who is truly passionate about food and ensuring the nutritional needs of our residents in Oakridge Care Home, Ballynahinch are met.Working as part of our fantastic multi-disciplinary team, your main roles will be to prepare meals for our residents specific to their dietary requirements and tastes, baking, menu planning, food ordering and stock control.Oakridge Care Home is a 65 bedded home specialising in frail elderly, residential and dementia care.

You will have the opportunity to gain skills and develop professionally by working alongside the experienced care team.What we need from youEssential:At least 6 months experience in a food preparation/ kitchen environment.An understanding of the nutritional needs of the elderly.Basic Food Hygiene CertificateAvailable to work Monday to Sunday 8am to 6pm on a rota basisEligibility to live and work in the UK.It is desirable that you have 6 months' experience in catering for elderly clients and is beneficial if you have an NVQ Qualification (or equivalent) in catering.
