Job Duties: As part of the development of Adult Day Services in Camphill Community Glencraig, we are currently recruiting for Day Support Workers who will work as part of a support team whose purpose is to meet the physical, psychological, emotional and social needs of adults with a learning disability within Day Services in Camphill Community Glencraig. Day Support Workers will assist the team in providing the highest possible standard of support and care to adults with complex needs and challenging behaviour, to pursue a valued life style by participating in meaningful daily activities, supporting the well-being and development of skills as well as enhancing and promoting independence, choices and rights within a safe and caring environment. This role may require an element of personal care and at times will require redirection or physical intervention as a last resort with those presenting challenging behaviours.
Qualifications / Experience: Essential Criteria: QCF level 2 or equivalent in Health and Social Care or related discipline Registered or agreeable to applying for registration with the N. Ireland Social Care Council At least six months experience in a caring and / or educational support fieldEffective communication skillsAbility to work as part of a teamDesirable Criteria: QCF level 3 in Health & Social Care, Social Sciences or equivalentExperience in education or health and social care settingExperience in working with individuals with a disabilityExperience of dealing with challenging behaviourExperience of medical conditions such as Epilepsy. Experience of Peg Feeding
