Job Duties: To participate in developing a varied programme of therapeutic activities to meet the needs, interests and abilities of the patients in the unit under the supervision of the OT. To work closely with patients to assist with assessing their needs and abilities and develop activities and source/adapt resources to suit and ensure a no fail approach to activities under supervision and guidance of Occupational Therapist and Nursing staff.To research and compile Life Story Information to create a short biography of patients, as soon as possible after their admittance, to enhance communication, ascertain interests and ensure a person centred approach to patient care, this will include linking in with nursing staff to follow up on the This is me Booklet.Please visit www.jobs.hscni.net to see Job Description and Personnel Specification.

Qualifications / Experience: NVQ Level 3 or higher in Health & Social Care and one year have paid experience with people with dementia.Practical experience developing and delivering individualised therapeutic activities with people with dementia on a one to one and group basis NVQ Level 2, Health & Social Care with and two year¿s paid experience with people with dementia.Please visit www.jobs.hscni.net to see Job Description and Personnel Specification.
