Job Duties: The main purpose of the Veterinary Inspector is the implementation of policy in respect of the following:Epizootic disease (for example highly pathogenic avian influenza) Enzootic disease (for example bovine tuberculosis) Animal welfare Public health Import controls Zoonotic disease (for example salmonella) International trade Please refer to the Candidate Information Booklet for full details on the Key Responsibilities.

Qualifications / Experience: Eligibility criteria: Applicants must, by the closing date for applications: Be a Member or Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS/FRCVS) OR Be eligible to seek membership of the RCVS Please note that the successful candidate, if not already fully registered with the RCVS, will be required to obtain registration in a timescale deemed reasonable by the Department and prior to taking up appointment, and must remain on the register while in the post. AND Have at least one years cumulative experience working with farmed animals or in veterinary public health. This experience can be gained before graduation.
