Job Duties: The post holder, working from 9am to 1pm Monday to Friday as part of a busy HR team will collate all types of payroll information i.e. overtime, sickness absence and annual leave for submission to an external payroll bureau. You will be processing changes and variations on a monthly basis and will need to work to tight deadlines, with accuracy and efficiency. You will be responsible for ensuring all statutory and organisational payments and deductions are administered correctly, including SSP, OSP, SMP and SPP. The successful candidate for this post will be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel as well as having some previous experience of handling the complexities of the various aspects of payroll reporting. In addition, the post holder will assist the HR team with general administrative duties.
Qualifications / Experience: Essential Criteria: NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Business Administration or 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) to include a minimum level C grade including English language and Maths.(In the case of applicants who do not meet the qualification requirements of the post but have 3 years experience in a similar post this criteria will be waived).With the NVQ Level 3 qualification: At least six months experience working within a payroll administrator capacity.With the 5 GCSEs: A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a similar post.Excellent working knowledge of MS Office package with particular experience of Word, Excel and OutlookExcellent and effective communication skills.Strong understanding of the need for confidentiality.Ability to prioritise workload.Demonstrable ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Desirable Criteria: Level 3 CIPD Human Resource Management OR Foundation Certificate in People Practice.Experience working within a Human Resources team.
